Who are we and what do we do?

Glenn Murray & Associates are an architectural practice formed in 2007. All the key members of our team previously worked together as part of an established practice and have over 25 years experience of working in the Central Scotland area. Our project portfolio covers areas in and around the Council boundaries of Stirling, Perth & Kinross, Falkirk, Clackmannanshire and further afield. Our practice is located in Dunblane which has proved to be an excellent location from which to service all areas within the Central Belt as well as more northern areas of Stirlingshire, Perthshire and beyond.

We are a small practice with considerable experience of working in many varied business sectors including Residential, Commercial, Health, Education, Industrial and Leisure. We pride ourselves on offering a personal and professional service which can be tailored to suit any specific project requirements, regardless of size.

The largest portion of our current workload relates to the Domestic Residential Sector. Our team is highly skilled in the design of all types of housing which in the private market can be as simple as a small domestic extension or as complicated as a large country house.

The practice also has extensive experience in the Social Housing Market having completed many rural and urban developments over the years. In our most recently completed projects for the local housing associations we have used innovative construction methods and included renewable heating systems to maximise the use of sustainable energy sources and to reduce carbon emissions.

The team have also been involved in masterplanning large private housing developments and the creation of innovative house designs for the developer market. We have also worked on Partnership Projects where private and social developments have been combined to create a mixed living environment.

Please check out our portfolio pages for examples of some of the projects that we have been involved in.

How much will it cost?

The fee will reflect the scope of services and bespoke design that your project involves. Other factors will include the complexity of the project, construction cost and project timescale for example commissions involving renovation of complex or listed buildings require a greater input than a new-build on a green field site and will subsequently attract a higher scale of fee.

The fee may often be quoted as a percentage of the building costs or as a lump sum. In cases where the scope of work is harder to predict or for services such as surveys or feasibility studies, the quote will usually consist of an hourly or daily rate together with an estimate of the time required. Regardless of the complexity of any project we will issue a detailed written Fee Proposal to you for consideration and acceptance prior to commencing any detailed services.

We are always happy to meet with prospective clients for a no obligation consultation to discuss your ideas and advise on feasibility so please feel free to give us a call.
